Pilgrimage ♥

What is a pilgrimage?

A pilgrimage is a journey or search of great moral or spiritual significance. Typically, it is a journey to a shrine or other location of importance to a person's beliefs and faith. Such sites may be commemorated with shrines or temples that devotees are encouraged to visit for their own spiritual benefit: to be healed or have questions answered or to achieve some other spiritual benefit. A person who makes such a journey is called a pilgrim.

Ahh, an act to faith, to yearn or celebrate spiritual guidance from our religions, what we belief.
In the modern context, people usually amass at significant places, especially holy places mentioned in their bibles, in service and celebration to their spiritual faith.

The most famous I would say, would be the Hajj which is by the Muslims. It never fails to grab headlines of newspapers, especially Singapore.

So why am I typing about all this stuff here? About pilgrimages and all?

I've always wanted to go on my own personal kind of pilgrimage of sorts, to learn something of myself, to be enlightened.
Whether is it to get closer to my faith or to reach a realisation about what I should do about my life, I'm all for it.
It's not just about me too, it's about how I should treat other people and accept them and all.

I played this game, Mass Effect, and it has these humanoids, quarians, who embark on their own Pilgrimages too.
Their journey requires them to find something useful to their resource-limited bases, a path of adulthood, before they are accepted as part of the tribe.

It's a very interesting concept, which has got me thinking too.

Maybe, I need my own time and space to reflect on life and whatever it is.
Like, what do I want? What should I do?

Everyday's a busy day of being fed with homework&commitments fodder.
It's getting a bit tired, I need something fresh now.
